Editor's review
This utility helps indexing of a specific directory and its sub-directories.
Advanced Directory Indexer handles indexing of a specific directory and all of it’s subdirectories. The application persistently maintains detailed information about each file that was indexed. These include the name, file path, file extension, directory path, date/time created, last modified date and time, last access date and time, and the file checksum in MD5. This is a utility that will be useful in creating HTML/ XML/ CSV or text index of a specific directory with all its sub-directories. If you wanted to index specific directory with sub-directories to MS SQL Server or MySQL database table, this tool will be handy too. The interface is very simple and direct. It should be very easy to start using this tool. You start by selecting the input directory by clicking the “input directory” button. The application will retain this selection until specifically changed in one of the following sessions.
Next step is to select the format for the index in HTML, XML, Microsoft SQL Server database table, MySQL database table, CSV, text. You can select an output directory, if needed or provide database connection details if a database table was being created. A SQL script will have to be executed for creating one table and two stored procedures. Querying details stored in indexed files becomes simple. Relational database tables could be queried by SQL, CSV data can be sorted in Excel spreadsheet, XPath can help with XML files and HTML and Text information can be easily published on the net. This is a good product, if you have a need.
